Olive Tree (Olea europaea)
Evergreen Mediterranean tree with silvery-green foliage, ideal for gardens, patios and large containers.
Olea europaea is a slow-growing, very long-lived Mediterranean tree. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil and becomes highly drought tolerant once established. Small white flowers appear in spring and may develop into olives under suitable conditions. In colder climates, protection from severe frost is recommended, especially for young and container-grown plants.
Care
Water young and container-grown olive trees regularly, allowing the soil to dry between waterings. Feed in spring and prune after the risk of severe frost has passed. Protect young plants and container specimens during periods of hard frost.
